Guidance

GFS: The GFS is the weather model run by the US government’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The GFS is a global model, meaning it produces forecasts for the entire world. The GFS produces forecasts out to 16 days, but predictions past 7 or 10 days are often fairly unreliable.

GFS model data is updated four times each day, from 10:30 to 12:00 AM/PM and 4:30 to 6:00 AM/PM EST.

Euro: The ECMWF, or Euro for short, is the model produced by the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts, an intergovernmental organization of over 30 European nations. The ECMWF is a global model, meaning it produces forecasts for the entire world. The ECMWF produces forecasts out to 10 days.

ECMWF data is updated twice each day, between 1:00 and 2:00 AM/PM EST.
